Payment

Payment is due at time of order. No items will be shipped until payment is received.
Retail prices include VAT. Minimum order value for retail orders is £10 before postage and packing.
The prices for goods displayed for sale are as set out on the site and are inclusive of the current rate of VAT. Where additional charges are made for delivery, they are clearly explained below.

We cannot accept your order until you have paid for it in full (including applicable delivery charges). Upon payment, we will confirm acceptance of your order by e-mail which will be sent to the e-mail address you provide on your order details. Whether or not you receive an e-mail, our acceptance of your order will create a legally binding contract between us. We reserve the right not to accept your order at our discretion.

How to Pay
We accept the following payment methods:
  • Paypal (worldwide)for secure online payments.
  • Major Credit and Debit Card payments via the Paypal secure payment portal.
  • Cheques in Sterling drawn on a British bank.
  • Money Order: BACS payment in Sterling paid from a British Bank direct to our account.
We use Paypal for secure online card processing. Paypal will verify some details during payment, such as your card billing address. You will then be able to pay via Visa, Mastercard, Maestro/ Switch, Visa Delta, Solo, Visa Electron, or American Express.
Paypal account holders will also have the option to log into their account and pay this way.
For overseas customers, billing in Sterling will be converted by your credit card company at the prevailing exchange rate.

BACS payments from British Banks are accepted. During checkout please request our account details in the comments box. These will be emailed to you. When your payment has been received by our bank, your order will be despatched.

Dated and signed cheques should be sent to us, made payable to designed for you. Please fill in the exact amount as shown in checkout total. Orders are despatched as soon as the cheque has cleared.

On rare occasions, cheques can be returned as unpaid some time after they have apparently cleared. Should your cheque be returned unpaid, we will email you and request another payment or return of any goods already supplied. [ Failure to comply with this will be treated as theft and may result in legal action being taken.]


Security
designed for you
never takes your credit card details by telephone nor receives card details submitted online. We only keep the records that we need to contact you and fulfill your orders. All personal details and account transactions are fully encrypted. For more information on our encryption system, please take a look at this article on our blog.


Returns
All our items are carefully handcrafted, checked, packed with the utmost of care. However if you are not fully satisfied with your purchase you may return it to us unworn, well wrapped in the original packaging, in a re-saleable quality within 7 days after receipt for a refund of the purchase price minus the original postage and handling costs.
If the item is returned as a result of a descriptive error or poor workmanship on our part we will give a full refund including all the appropriate postage costs.
Please use the appropriate means of postage below as we cannot give refunds on items we do not receive.

UK Orders up to £46 - return via Recorded Signed for - with no insurance cover for jewellery or
UK Orders over £46 and up to £500 - return via Special Delivery with insurance
Overseas orders - return by a secure, insured, airmail delivery service.

Please contact us to report any shortages or breakages within 2-3 working days.


Exceptions to Returns
Except for defects in manufacturing, we are unable to process returns relating to earrings or any other form of pierced body jewellery because of the intimate contact it has with the body.
Specially commissioned and bespoke pieces are not subject to our returns policy. Your statutory rights are not affected.

For your guidance before making returns
All our pieces are designed to sustain normal light wear. The individual links are generally not soldered so will not sustain unreasonable force. For this reason we will not accept back items simply because of a snapped link as this would suggest considerable force not consistent with simply wearing a necklace, bracelet etc.

Many of the materials we use are individually handmade such as:
  • Hilltribe Silver,
  • Individually embossed and cut linked chain,
  • Bali Silver Beads (individually crafted by silver artisans),
  • Gemstones and natural materials (subject to natural inclusions and variances in colour and cut),
  • Handcrafted glass beads (including silver-lined),

Variations in machine manufactured items are usually considered faults, but the variations above are not faults but the result of hand crafting and/or natural materials.

Please note that whilst every effort has been made to closely reproduce the colours of the pieces of our jewellery we are limited to how the products are represented in the images displayed on your computer screen.


Cancellations
Your right to cancel your order
If you wish to cancel your order you can do so by email within 7 days of placing it. We will then give a full refund minus the original postage and handling costs. Please bear in mind all returned items must be in their original packing, unused, well packed and with the original invoice enclosed.
If you wish to cancel your order before your order is despatched either to you or to a third party, please contact us.
Please note, if you cancel your order and the goods have been despatched to you/received by you, you will be required to return the goods via Royal Mail secure delivery services.

Postage
Each piece of jewellery is weighed, and the cost of the postage is charged by weight and destination. Our post is normally sent by Royal Mail.

UK Postage
A handling charge of £1.50 is made for each UK order including administration costs, a presentation box or bag and all packaging. Proof of postage is obtained at the time of posting.

UK small package postal costs are:
  up to 100gm 101-250gm 251-500gm compensation
1st class post £1.48 £1.96 £2.48 up to £46
Recorded Signed for £2.35 £2.73 £3.25 none*
Special Delivery £5.75 £5.90 £6.50 up to £500

*Jewellery is barred from compensation in Recorded Signed for.

For any order over £46 we recommend that you select Special Delivery Next Day where compensation of up to £500 is part of the fee paid. Packages should arrive by 1pm of the following day unless in outlying areas of the UK.

Rest of the World
We use two methods of postage from Royal Mail. Airmail post using Airsure or International Signed For’.
For security reasons we only use these services and offer the options below as the most secure.

Royal Mail Airsure
Airsure service provides priority handling and tracking throughout its journey, gives confirmation of delivery on-line and compensation for loss.

Airsure European1 countries:
Andorra, Austria, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Canary Islands, Corsica, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Airsure worldwide2 countries:
USA, Canada, Brazil, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand.

Royal Mail International Signed For
International Signed For (ISF) service provides priority handling and tracking within the UK. It also requires a signature on delivery, and provides compensation for loss.
International Signed For service delivers to All Countries3 in the World –temporary exceptions**.
